The goal of this video was to create a piece for the relaunch of Lyft’s new career page that incorporated our new brand colors, featured over 100 real employees, and accurately depicted the fun culture yet ambitious challenges of working at a unicorn start-up.
With each Lyft commercial campaign they create supplemental marketing materials to help explain the creative concepts. I was tasked with shooting and editing this behind-the-scenes piece for their “It Matters How You Get There” campaign.
We created a series of driver training videos to teach newly on-boarded drivers how to operate and excell. We filmed drivers telling ‘their stories’ to make the training informational while maintaining a human connection that is within the boundaries of a contract worker. We shot them in studio with simple backdrops to focus in on their stories and allow the training to have longer lasting results without the need to update app screens or product images in an ever updating tech world. The videos have been viewed over 2,00,000+ times and helped on board tens of thousands of drivers.
I edited the product launch video for of one of Lyft’s most successful differentiators. The ‘Amp’ helps customers discover their rides by matching colors to their phones and displaying messages on the back during the ride. This piece helped the Amp win Wired's award for “Best User Interface Upgrade 2016”.
We wanted to tell the stories of Veteran’s that use Lyft driving to themselves and others transition back to civilian life. We decided to edit the piece with a more serious tone than most brand work and partnered with Swell Music to score a live American Jazz composition to support the concept.
The video was shared by the USO and Lyft’s marketing outlets.
This project was developed specifically through Lyft’s Entertainment division with multiple partnerships requiring a balancing production between our in-house creative, an animation studio, and Kevin Hart’s own production company LOL Entertainment.
"Smog City" is a 47-minute long music documentary entailing the rise of drum-and-bass musician 12th Planet and his record label Smog as they successfully break into the rising 2010 electronic music scene in Los Angeles.
Featuring talents such as Skrillex, Good Charlotte, and more at concerts and music festivals around the nation we tell their triumphant story from couch-surfing dj’s to headlining performers and grammy award-winners.
From the pre-production meetings we wanted to mature the style during this round of Lyft’s marketing photography from playful imagery to realistic use cases with a wink of enjoyment. We injected more color, shot in more cities, and featured our newest product offerings to help bring this campaign to life.
Executive Producing this 35mm film was an amazing experience working with DGA director Candace Infuso. We acquired grants of $110,000 and shot this short film over 4 days with a 15 person for LMU School of Film and Television. It was nominated for two ‘Outside the Frame’ awards.
I’ve always enjoyed portraits and head shots. Deciding between studio looks, background elements, and wardrobes are some of the intriguing elements of storytelling I love to consider within art direction.
During my free time I like to Produce and Direct videos for my more musically talented friends. Usually with a budget of $0 plus beer and pizza we try to create something worth sharing with their fans.
Dante Elephante is an Indie Surf Rock band hailing from the beaches of Santa Barbara, California and friends of mine. I photographed one of their first live shows in Los Angeles at the wild and wonderful Whiskey-A-Go-Go.
